Information about Our "Problem Skin Soothing" Eczema and Psoriasis Calendula Flower & Pine Tar Soap

Help your lovely skin nourishing bar soaps last as long as possible by keeping it out of water and water spray when not in use. We let our bars dry between uses and they last 3-4 times as long as when you leave it in the shower sitting in a place it is sprayed with water and/or can't fully dry.

Home-grown Calendula Flower Petals we can 100% guarantee our flower petals are organic and chemical-free because we grow, harvest and dry them here on the farm. Helps clear acne and pimples. Promotes healing of minor cuts, scrapes, and wounds
Soothes eczema and irritated skin. Speeds up the healing of sunburns and other minor burns. During the Civil War, calendula petals were used to staunch wounds because of its highly antiseptic saponins and flavonoids.

The benefits of neem have been known for centuries. In ancient times the raw plant was used to heal wounds and treat the skin after an accident. Neem products are known to relieve itching and redness in irritated skins. Cracked and dry skin can be moisturized and made smooth by using neem soaps.

Mango Butter is rich in carotenoids and antioxidants and has natural emollient properties, wound healing and regenerative properties. It provides supple, rejuvenating moisture for the appearance of firmer, healthier looking skin. It also helps with the hardness of the soap (to last longer) and adds a luxurious creaminess to the lather.

Aloe Butter contains all the key properties of Aloe Vera, skin soothing and restorative with anti-inflammatory properties and naturally containing lignin which aids its ability to draw in other ingredients to the skin. It aids in rapid hydration of dry skin caused by eczema, psoriasis, rosacea, sun burn, wind burn, and general chapping. 

Jojoba Oil is cold pressed from the seeds of the desert shrub, Simmondsia chinensis and is actually not oil but a liquid wax. Benefits in soap include moisturizing, antibacterial, antioxidant, noncomedogenic, hypoallergenic, helps control sebum production, may help promote collagen synthesis and may help speed up wound healing. It also produces a rich creamy lather and helps extend the shelf life of this homemade soap.

Turmeric Powder contains antioxidants and anti-inflammatory components which can help reduce redness and calm irritation while its antibacterial properties can help disinfect and heal the skin. It's known to purify the body, brighten skin and reduce acne as well as enhance smoother and younger-looking skin by promoting elasticity.

Olive Oil is the mildest and most gentle soap oil. It has moisturizing and skin-nourishing properties. It's very good for sensitive skin and helps to produce a good lather in the final product.

Coconut Oil is well known for its antimicrobial, antibacterial, antifungal, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties in cold process soap which can reduce redness, inflammation, dead skin cells, and acne due its fatty acids. It is highly cleansing and conditioning to the skin and produces a wonderfully bubbly, creamy lather. 

Beef Tallow rendered and purified here in our kitchen from grass-fed local cattle, is loaded with vitamins A, D & K and antioxidants. It is known to promote rejuvenation of the skin by fighting free radicals that can cause wrinkles, it has the ability to restore vibrancy in skin and it is an intense moisturizer that assists in retaining the skins natural moisture. 

Castor Oil has antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties of that make it useful in reducing acne, but it's also an excellent cleanser, humectant, and contributor of large, soapy bubbles.

Apple Cider Vinegar helps ease skin conditions such as eczema by naturally balancing your skin's pH levels. In this recipe we use ACV instead of distilled water and it provides an additional benefit of increasing the "superfat" (conditioning and emollient properties) to soothe and restore while adding an extra barrier between your skin and dryness caused by eczema, psoriasis, sjogrens, chapping, etc.
